Finnigan Update (Surgery)
Wednesday, June 27, 2018
Chris and I got home just a bit ago after an eventful stay at Cleveland Clinic. After some delays, Chris was taken in for surgery early afternoon on Monday. The procedure lasted close to two hours, with a word from the Doc in the O.R. that “everything was going well.” He stood by that conclusion afterward, even though Chris had difficulty “waking up” afterward. She was somewhat disorientated, hurting, etc. which meant an overnight stay. The Doc could only assume at this point that the cancer was removed, being part of the organs extracted. Please continue to intercede with us for God’s complete touch.
She was quite lethargic on Tuesday, spending most of the time sleeping. The anesthesia seemed to pay a toll with some vomiting, etc. The staff decided she needed another night’s stay for further evaluation. I was hoping to send an update yesterday from my computer at home; obviously, that didn’t happen, so here I am! Needless to say, The Lord stepped in again, honoring your effectual prayer. Your notes of encouragement “fit the bill” for our hearts, which were inundated with God’s perfect peace. Thank you!
The open doors to share the Good News were nothing short of phenomenal! Indeed, people need the Lord, and we were able to “love on” so many precious folks from all over the world. With all the difficulties re: immigration, etc., the bigger picture is that we can share the power and love of Christ to the world, without leaving our shores! Yes, let’s keep sending missionaries to the ends of the earth; but let’s not neglect the tremendous mission field right under our noses! We can talk more about that at another time.
With heart-felt gratitude to each of you,
Bill & Chris
